Metabolic Behavior of Angiotensins in Upright Postures NormotensiyeHuman Plasma in the Supine

چکیده
The etfect of activating the renin-angietensin system on the metabolism of angiotensins (ANGs) in normotesusiye human plasma was inyestigated. In normotensiye supine human plasma, four peptides with in vitro angietensin I-conyerting enzyme (ACE) inhibitory activity which correspond to the sequence of ANG (3-8), ANG (4-8), ANG (S-8), and ANG (3--4) existed at a concentration of >39 frnellml of p]asma. When actfivating the renin activgty by keeping upright in posture for 60min, ANG II and the four peptides significantly increased as compared with the levels in the supine posture, except for ANG L In particular, Vall-Tyr correspending to ANG (3-4) in the upright posture was about 4-fo)d more than the yalue in the supine posture, and -'as predominantly present (447finolfml of plasma) as well as ANG I. As a result of in vitro degradation tests en ANGs, ANG (3-4) was produced from ANG I, and not from ANG II, III or

Altered renin-angiotensin-aldosterone relationships in normal renin essential hypertension.
Aldosterone responsiveness to angiotensin II (A II) was evaluated in 64 subjects with "normal renin" hypertension. Plasma aldosterone (PA) and plasma renin activity (PRA) levels were determined with the subjects supine and after 2 72 hours in the upright position while they were in metabolic balance on a 10 mEq of sodium/100 mEq of potassium diet. The increment in PA between supine and upright ...
متن کاملRegional lung blood flow and ventilation in upright humans studied with quantitative SPECT.
We used quantitative Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT) to study the effect of the upright posture on regional lung blood flow and ventilation. Nine (upright) plus seven (prone and supine) healthy volunteers were studied awake, breathing spontaneously. Regional blood flow and ventilation were marked in sitting upright, supine and prone postures using (113m)In-labeled macroaggreg...
متن کاملSupine exercise restores arterial blood pressure and skin blood flow despite dehydration and hyperthermia.
We determined whether the deleterious effects of dehydration and hyperthermia on cardiovascular function during upright exercise were attenuated by elevating central blood volume with supine exercise. Seven trained men [maximal oxygen consumption (V˙o 2 max) 4.7 ± 0.4 l/min (mean ± SE)] cycled for 30 min in the heat (35°C) in the upright and in the supine positions (V˙o 2 2.93 ± 0.27 l/min) whi...
متن کاملLong-term bed rest-induced reductions in stroke volume during rest and exercise: cardiac dysfunction vs. volume depletion.
Long-term head-down-tilt bed rest (HDT) causes cardiovascular deconditioning, attributed to reflex dysfunctions, plasma volume reduction, or cardiac impairments. Our objective with the present study was to evaluate the functional importance and relative contribution of these during rest and exercise in supine and upright postures. We studied six subjects before (baseline), during [days 60 (D60)...
متن کاملSource Localization of Brain States Associated with Canonical Neuroimaging Postures
Cognitive neuroscientists rarely consider the influence that body position exerts on brain activity; yet, postural variation holds important implications for the acquisition and interpretation of neuroimaging data. Whereas participants in most behavioral and EEG experiments sit upright, many prominent brain imaging techniques (e.g., fMRI) require participants to lie supine. Here we demonstrate ...
